im changing to mag's on the doodge, and was wondering what fluids to put in. plan on running amsoil synthetics thanks to a sponsor lol. whats the best to run, and do i need a friction multiplier?? my chevy does with the g80, didnt know if doodge does.

If the rear is posi you do need the friction modifier, I run 80/90 weight and it seems to do just fine.

I had 75/90 Amsoil in mine and it wasn't up to the task of my normal driving and hauling loads on occasion.. The ring gear on my truck literally fell out when the caps were unbolted while swapping my gears. It shreaded a shim and toasted my bearings. So now I run Amsoil 75/140

schaeffers 75w-90 is the BEST !!! you dont have do believe me just reserch it for yourself.

Dodge recommends 75/140 in the rear if you tow heavy, tow in the heat, or just want more thermal protection in the rear. They recommend 75-90 in the front.

Thicker won't hurt ya, just adds a little more drag when the diffs are cold.

Too thin will hurt ya, but with the extra capacity, extra cooling fins, I don't see why you need to spend the extra dollars for the thicker stuff.

If it's free though, get the thicker stuff!

haha dealer cost. cant beat it!

i think they make a thick oil specifically just for pulling/racing/ hard offraod abuse also.

Thanks guys!

Amsoil does make a new severe gear oil that is formulated for drag racing, sled pulling and off road use. For more info www.amsoil.com
