A friend of mine has 94 ppump and wants to put quick rate cam in to get more fuel at 4k. for sled pulling. Can he still drive the truck on the street. He puts about 1000 miles on a year.

Quick rate cam will bump his power level up from a 180/215 cam, but it makes it a bit more harsh at light throttle. Still driveable though. If you're
going to do a cam replacement, go 13mm while you're in there if you have enough driveline for the extra 200hp.

The bosch quick rate cam is a 215/180 cam, if you're talking about a reground pump cam i suggest talking to Seth or Kevin if your wanting a reground cam that has a even quicker injection rate.

Kevin advised me not to run a reground cam on the street if putting a lot of miles on it. In your friends case sounds like he barely puts any miles on it so it will be ok.

Might think about doing 13mm P&B's if you're going to do a pump cam as well.

Most pumps sold with a quick rate cam use the 180/215 cam.

the 160 pump is set at 500cc but is running out of fuel buy the time he gets to the end of the track. Airdog 200 feeding and 5x18 injs. We were thinking a different cam would help get more fuel at high rpms.

A quick rate cam will help but the fuel pressure issue must be fixed as well.

Get the pressure to maintain 60psi the whole track and see how that helps.

We are working on having a new pump cam that will be like the 215/180 but with more fill time. Will be a awesome swap for the guys wanting to put one in their 160/175 pumps. We will offer max pump/balance and install cam for a very reasonable price! :)

And you'll definitely need a beta tester with a fuel starved 160 pump.......

I know a guy with this 95' POS Junker Drag Truck.....

Glad I'm not the only one....My FASS HPFP help pressure no problem on my old p-pumped truck....not sure why Airdog can't do it?

Try a 5k gsk and set the timing to 27*. You will still want to end up shifting around 3800rpm but it will help your top end out a bit. I was thinking of swapping a quick rate cam into my 160 pump as well so ill be watching this.
