Ram Air for Dodge?

Plus he probably makes more power with that setup than Tyler did.

Jory, Devon Lock has a scoop like you are describing on his truck.

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout Willis! Thanks. I wonder if it really works or if it is just gay. LOL I'm sure we could poll it and debate it for a month. :bang

LOL

Scoop like that won't really work.

There is typically a boundary layer of dead air over a vehicle that is 1" tall. Notice all real race cars have a scoop that is has a bottom at least 1-2" above the hood or what ever panel its on. There is a reason for that.

Well, 1-2 inches definetly gets into the "gay" category. :D

Yamaha made a snowmobile a few years back. Had some small hood scoops on a 700CC naturally aspirated engine. THey said it was good for 3HP at 75MPH or so. Jory whip out the calculator and if you know the density of air, you can figure out how big of a tunnel ram you will need to get a positive change at the inlet of the turbo.

Maybe make an air intake like the Scotty II? Where you would be pulling air from the cowl area where it should be slightly pressurized when hitting the windshield.

Hey Jory. Forget it okay? I suggest you keep your electrician brain on things like um..... electricity.:hehe:

If you want to design something, you could look into adapting something like these. I don't think it will help the haze but.......it is something.

Ahh, my favorite mod. I took some good stuff foam and a piece of aluminum and folded a ram just past the air intake hole. I later drilled a 4" hole in the cowl and rigged a scotty 2 type intake. The rigged fender well dam works just as good and doesn't give you all that extra turbo noise drilling the cowl gives you.

I can't say I noticed anything on the big end, but the low end boost improved.

i would say the best bet would be to run something inside the fenderwell. b/c of where the air box is on the 2nd gen it's tough to do something short that will retain velocity. IMO the BD scoop that they have for the 08 Ford is a sweet design but it still has a few tight bends in it. But based on the position of the airbox it's the shortest and most direct design w/o having to go through the hood.
