How many people are out there using Rathet shifters for pulling? Was it worth the conversation? Also how well does it mount to the 47re tranmissions? My main question is do you need to convert to a manual valve body or will it still work with a regular upgraded valve body? Thanks ahead and any pictures would be apprciatated.

B&M mega truck shifter here. Best money I spent, no more missed shifts. Should work with either a manual or regular VB.

I couldn't agree more, I switched mine over to a floor shifter before 08 pulling season and wouldn't think of going back to the column shifter, you can focus more on driving the truck instead of worrying if your going to bump into the wrong gear.

I got a Hurst Pistol grip shifter with button given to me i just need to buy the cable correct and make a mounting bracket to the transmission lever right. When using this do you keep your TV cable tied back all the way? I plan on making a bracket in the cab to bring it up to console level.

The B&M came with a bracket to mount the new cable. It needed to be modified because the 727 must have different cooler lines. It was easy to modify.

hust floor shifter with manual VB for me, wouldn't go back to factory shifter

I have this bad boy coming to go along with the new auto!!

So you pull the trigger to shift each time or just to go into park or reverse? Then just bump up or down in the gears with out hitting the wrong gear..

The smaller red lever is usually the reverse/park lockout, not sure what the big ones for.

The one i have is ... Slap shift from 1st to 2nd then you pull the lever to go into third so that it does not slid into neutral. once released you can slap shift again into neutral then there is the revese lock out which you must move the lever in order to engage reverse. Then to get into park again is as simple as grabbing the lever and slidding it into park. Just need to play with one to understand it... Pretty excited to try mine out.

So if you shift 1,2,3,2 and you want to go to neutral(end of hook) you can pull the lever and go to N with out hitting reverse.

Back when we used a auto we tried downshifting some and it only seemed to break parts. You guys ever just tried unlocking the converter?

I'm real surprised to see you guys wanting to use or using a B&M shifter. What a piece of crap it is compared to others out there.

IMO, if you want a very quality shifter, look into the TCI stuff. They're a vendor here so you may get better pricing and you'll be supporting a CompD vendor.

The safety lock will make sure you'd never hit reverse

mine is a gate shifter but, TCI also sell some nice ratchet shifters.

Anyone have a video of a reverse shot into the sled at the end of a pull?

I highly suggest going to something like these.

Tritons looks pretty good!!!!
