on the rear end of a 05 durmax where the yoke slips into the rear diff what is the torque setting. the outer seal is leaking and was going to fix it sunday, dealer wanted 125 bucks to fix it and 180 bunks to put new fuild in. Never seen nobody reuse old fuild thanks

let me check my service manual and get bac to you in a few.

OK, of course it has to be complicated........
"be sure to mark the relation of the propeller shaft/pinion/differential. Measure the amount of torque required to turn the pinion with an inch lb wrench. once reassembled, rotate the pinion whiletightening to seat the bearings. Your end torque reading should be 3-5 lb greater than that you recorded first off. rotate the pinion several times and recheck. don't overtighten or a new crush washer will be needed."
That's from the manual, hope it helps. For a 10.5 axle it does give a straight 65lb/ft spec.

well all we are having to do is replace the seal behing the yoke

that is just the procedure to replace the seal. that whole seating bearings thing was in those instructions for the seal
