I posted this on tech section but may not get many views.

I swapped a Dana 80 for the 70 and need to square up the rear end.

What's acceptable for differences in measurements and where should I measure, and how is it best aligned? I am measuring from the top of ball joint up front to the front of the flat blocks on the axle mounts (not the riser but what it sits on).

Help! I've got a pull tomorrow night and want to get it put back together.

thanks Paul

measure from a point on LF to RR and RF to LR in a cross measurement front to back and square it that way.

Thanks Mo.

Now that I think about it geometrically that makes sense. It's how I square up wooden drawers and cabinets.

Maybe I'm missing something, but how are you able to adjust the axle under the leafs springs?

there is play in the holes and alignment pins when the springs are set onto the perches...they can be off as much as 3/4" at max.

Just make a plug to fit in the hole in the perch on the rear end with the wright size hole to fit the spring pin that should get you square.I have done it this way a few times it is simple.
