recipe for a 3rd gen puller

It'll plain out about 3850-3900, so I guess that's a no, on 4000 down the track, the ecm seems to limit me, not lack of power for that gear. I fought a few issues all year, but when things were right, It held it's own, for a daily driven truck. I could run with duramax's, but there isn't many around here with more than just a chip. It's a good solid combo Imho, but I also pull with some tough trucks like bad-duvall, blownsmoke02, kman9090, and 01pump.
 
03-04, Smarty/TST, Flux 6, turbo you have with some upgrades, T4 manifold, Helix 2 w/springs, SBC triple disc. There are a few other small things but that will get you pretty competitive.
 
Just make sure you go big enough on stix. I went 180's thinking they were plenty big, got them used or i would of probably gone smaller. I wish they were bigger, my cp3 holds 26,000 wot and I can clean them up to a haze down the track with 58 psi out of a silver bullet, with that s400 go big.
 
Ok, got a 03 auto, putting the 75mm S400 on, dual CP3's, fass 150, flux 4.3's, hamilton cam and springs, tst, smarty tnt, triple disk converter, e locker in the front.

Am I forget anything ? It has 3.73's. I'll be pulling it with 33 or 35 sts's on it, should do a gear swap now, or give the 3.73's

I saw a vid of a 3rd gen on here pulling in drive with the same gear, I just can't imagine pulling that tall of a gear...
 
if it has 373s your going to want to switch to 410s or its not going to like it in drive. mine would lug a little in drive with 650+ hp so Im thinkin even on a 800 hp truck 410s and let it scream. but you need to be able to run drive.
410s with 33s not sure with the 35s,but if you want it to get to 4k you need 410s
 
I have 33 on my truck and pull with 3:73 and it doesnt bog down. Sound like your going to build a nice CR. Im rebuilding mine for next season.

if it has 373s your going to want to switch to 410s or its not going to like it in drive. mine would lug a little in drive with 650+ hp so Im thinkin even on a 800 hp truck 410s and let it scream. but you need to be able to run drive.
410s with 33s not sure with the 35s,but if you want it to get to 4k you need 410s

Im thinkin 4:10's too, 35's for the speed sleds, 33's for the heavy ones.

Kickin some dmax tail is at the top of my list....

I hope 4.3's are big enough, If i go bigger, im afraid i won't be able to tow the wifes gasser around..
 
Im thinkin 4:10's too, 35's for the speed sleds, 33's for the heavy ones.

mine had plenty of power dont get me wrong,but on the stickiest tracks it would take power-mines never shifted down though. I have some vids on youtube.

ZZ custom Fabrication Head with 1.450 +100 itakes valves
ZZ custom Fabrication side draft intake with port extenders
MaxSpool 60 mm H13 tool steel billet cam with 207 intake 216 exhaust 123 LSA cams with .621 lift on the intake , and .531 lift on the exhaust.

MaxSpool dual springs with titanium retainers , MaxSpool Billet Pro tapper wall push rods
Industrial Injection stage III long stroke dragon fire single CP3 pump and 42 lpm injectors
18 + to 1 compression
Industrial Injection Race 1.6 turbo
EFI live high rpm tuning
This combination will make close to 1100 hp
