Jeff (Snedge) sent me a couple of pics and labeled them "Redneck Porn", and I added to them. First one is one of the ones Jeff sent me:

Then another part that came from both Jeff, via Swain Coatings, and a part that came from Rip at Source Automotive:

I have some other porn but they seem to be camera shy, right now. :hehe:

Paulb...what it cost you to have the pistons coated? What material did they coat them with?

What piston is that? would it work well for a p-pumped 24v...seems to have a very wide bowl which would allow for higher timing???

Who's your daaaaaaaady? :hehe: Probably even a few sheep in nun outfits. LOL

*sounds of barfing*

Is that a CR rod?

It's a billet Crower rod for the Cummins. It does use cr rod bearings (different bearing on the top then on the bottom), but I don't think it's limited to just cr's. It's going in my 05.

It ran $62.50 per piston. These pistons are coated with their gold coat on top and pc9 on the skirts. The gold coat is a ceramic coating, and the pc9 reduces friction and retains lubrication. The gold coat is about .002 thick, and the pc9 about .0015.

It's a stock 05 cr piston. I would think there would be a lot better choices for a p-pumped 24v. Kinda outside of my area though.
