well I got some of the aftermarket headlights and one seems keep getting moisture inside.

i resealed the lens to housing with flowable silicone, and it seemed to help a little at first, but now it seems to be worse!

How can I find the culprit for the leak?
How can I remove moisture without screwing up the clear lens?
any other ideas on how to fix the leak?

thanks

they are ebay specials, so I havent contacted them yet, or tried...

honestly I would rather fix before dealing with sending back off!

What side? My drivers side got moisture in it but it turns out it was prying on the marker light the way it was sitting in there and getting moisture in. I reseated it and no problems since.

I figured you would chime in!

yeah it's the driver side! the marker/blinker socket is backwards of a stocker and their is fitment issue, but maybe thats not it!

If i reseat it, how do I get existing moisture out?

Well mine actually just fell out when I removed my headlight. I reseated it and reinstalled it carefully. In my case the water just evaporated out from the heat of the headlight and marker bulbs.

thats what i was hoping for, but it just kept getting worse, uhhhh... it's pissing me off! I have pulled that light so much

what would happen if you spray rain-x in there a shook it a little? would it cause a haze?

A "DO NOT EAT" silicate packet should absorb the moisture if you put a few of them in. On mine, I noticed that the seals weren't sealing tight on the bulb sockets.

so what did you do about the sockets? it does feel loose and I tried some bulb grease to repell moisture but that didn't work either

You know the foam seal around the socket? I just stacked two of those on top of each other to take up the manufacturing clearance.

that sounds good where can I get those? I don't think I have ever seen em?

I was looking on google images for a picture and couldn't find any. I used them from a different headlight socket that I had laying around.

Dry it in your oven at warm (250*) setting for 15 minites on a cookie sheet, works like a charm and plastics generally melt at 350-450 and even as high as 600

well i went and got a washer to stack with the old one, and I put too much pressure on it and broke one of the ears off the socket, where can I get a new one if needed?
