I'm trying to replace my steering stabilizer and can't get it removed from the tie rod. I took the nut off with the cotter pin in it but something is still holding it. The nut directly on the other side of the tie rod won't budge. Is a puller needed to pull the stabilizer? Thanks

Eric

A puller would help. Probably just seized in there. Spray it with pb blaster and let it sit a while and then go to town on it.

Spray it, let sit, heat if needed, hit it with a bfh

its a taper fit that like to get stuck real easy, especially after they get tightened with a 3' wrench

I just changed mine and it was a b***h to get off cuz theirs no room to swing a hammer and mine was really stuck

pickle fork, puller, air hammer, BFH, your favorite penetration aid (i prefer gin, but hey.....)

Took one end of my stabilizer off last night. Resistance one direction...NOTHING the other. Looks like I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to buy one of those splitters when I get parts....if I ever decide where to buy them. :D
