Rules?

Being popular and giving people everything they want, is not leadership. It's one more step every year toward 2.6 open modified.

Who was the 2.6 PPL points winner this year?

Look at the turn out at a PPL event, and then go to a NADM event. Seems like popularity is doing very well. :)

My point was the top 3 trucks in PPL, would be the top 3 trucks at any 2.6 event.

Do you think that the NADM turbo rule would allow more HP than the PPL rule?

I should rephrase my statement about the top 3 trucks in PPL. Not that they would be the top 3 trucks at any event. They have the potential to be top 3 at any 2.6 event.

My point being that FPP is now the only sanctioning body with different 2.6 rules.

Valid point. I guess I'm just used to having different rules at different places/ organizations. But I still have a hard time following someone's rules that only have what 8 - 10 hooks a year? Now they are big events but there are few of them and scattered across how many states? It still comes down to : choose who you want to pull with and fit your truck to their rules. Or set your truck up the way you want it built and run it where you can

The only difference I see in the video is a small turbine turbos pulling against larger turbine turbos. Why not try something besides a s400 I don't see anything in the rules stated stopping you.

I was baffled by your comment until I realized that you don't realize im only using the vid to compare the silver chev(only FPP truck at event, in top 5 at most FPP events) to Hampson and wrights hooks. I assure you that the three trucks I just mentioned are not running small turbines

First of all - Happy New Year ..... i have been reading this for some time now and find the entire process really disheartening. so let me address this piece by piece to see where i am 'out of sync'. first of all the Turbo Charger:

here are the '14 Central Ohio rules for Turbo Charger:

The vehicle is limited to a 2.6 inducer bore single turbocharger. The compressor wheel must protrude into into a 2.6” bore for 1/8”. The inlet will be measured using a 2.605” inch plug; the plug must not be able to enter the inducer bore. A stock map width enhancement (MWE) groove is allowed. No MWE groove will be allowed that has a width greater than .200”. All provisions allowing air into the wheel other than via bore and the MWE groove are prohibited. The vehicle driver will be responsible for making compressor wheel accessible for tech personnel to measure bore and able to inspect compressor wheel.

These sure do look like the 2014 USA-EAST rules. I know that our tech guys 'added' another paragraph to try to help out, but that may have made matters worse.

We (FPP) can just adopt the above written COTPA rules for 2014 (Turbo ONLY) and move on to the next item??

and please don't muddy the water with any other items until this Turbo wording is solved and settled. thanks.

Have at it!!

cotpc/ppl style turbos fit under the old fpp turbo rule, if you want everyone to have to change then change the wording, if not leave it with out the side car wording, those of us who want to run the so called "lesser" protrusion turbos will fit under the old current rule. the turbo wasent where all of this started, we as a membership group wanted hitches, fuel, battarys, hyd steering, filled blocks. Id say the process went disheartened when we were denied a rules meeting.

does Central Ohio allow a 'filled block'?? i can not find anything in their rules about this.

and....hydraulic steering??? Central Ohio rules are very similar to USA-EAST. are COTPA rules a better wording??

remember ... i am the promoter and NOT the rules maker, but I am trying to figure this out and am quite perplexed.

Or have a rules meeting with your membership present and allow majority to rule

13 and 14 updates

Damn, all you poor SOB's are gonna go broke trying retrofit "breaks" onto your front axles.

I'm sure someone means well, but i question any sanctioning body that doesn't have the whit to maneuver through the hurdles of the English language.

Monkey Fist Rage

the phrase referring to 'Must have working front breaks (sic) on the front axle' is INCORRECTLY pasted..... this phrase comes from the 3.0 rules that were copied accidentally by Caleb and mistakenly posted herein.
