Wondering what is smallest A/R you can get for a ex. housing on a S400?
Also on a small body 400 are they using the 300 center section?
What would be the best S400 combo for a tight converter VP truck that see's some daily driving and pulling?
Thanks, Keith

There isn't a good s400 for a daily driver with a tight convertor.

You can get a 90 AR with an 83 wheel but it wouldn't work for a single and it would be to tight for twins.
I would do a set of twins with a 62/71/13ss on top and an S400 or even 480 on the bottom. I have a buddy running that set up with the 480 and he drives it all the time and ran an 11.85 on fuel on the stock pump.

Is the 1.1 a/r housing too tight for twins or does that work ok?

Why wouldn't that work for a single?

Not for a daily driver it is just to much turbo ! I think that is what Stuckys used to run on the pro street truck before they went to twins and I think they were spooling it with nitrous not to practical on the street.

I have video of me spooling the .9 with a 2.8 charger, and a very loose stall convertor.

It would probably work good for a good set of towing twins but might be kind of restrictive for all out performance.

He is running a 132 AR and a 96 wheel

Thanks

Is that on a vp44 truck?

I am going to be building a set of twins for mine and wasnt sure if the s480 would be too much. I was planning on running the normal s475/96/1.32.

Thanks

Sorry! Yes it was a VP truck

There are housing options smaller than the .9 T4, not to mention other turbine wheel options that can help overcome tough spool up.

Borg has some .8 housings, for the s400 83x74 wheel. I have yet been able to find one in stock. Do you have any Chris? PM me a cost?
I have had some guys say they can get a 0.8 to work, but they require some CNC work, and were quoting $350+ range on them.

to zstroken can u help me with my vp44 truck? looking for 750-800hp using a 2.6 charger

cumins01

I have 6x.018 injectors, .093 tubes, .093 lines, scheid lighting vp44 or II extreme vp44 not sure yet, redline box, edge comp, haisley street cam, scheid custom 2.6 charger what horsepower should I expect? scheid says 700 at the flywheel and II says that the extreme pump should make more then that but dont want to spend 2500 or be a guine pig. have to spend time on a dyno to dial in.
