s480

I run a S400 everyday but it doesnt have the 3+in Inducer tho , dirt only and some RPMS its possiable with big singles say 2.8 up , If you want to run with the 2.8 guys you need a 2.8+ turbo , tho with the VP 4000+ is about it I know a few VP guys with A5k and do decent in sled pulling,,, money and tuning is your biggest factor theres more turbo options out there than off the shelf stuff , sometimes you have to find the wright doctor to get the behind the counter turbos :)

I ran an S400 last year when my truck was still a VP. It had a 71mm inducer and I don't know what turbine wheel/housing size but it lit pretty hard around 2800 rpm and I could carry some pretty good RPM down the track, somewhere in the 3600-3800 range. That was with a Redline/Drag Comp/HRVP/ big lines, big connector tubes and some big injectors. Do yourself a favor and forget about Mach 7's, there's way more to be had from other injector companies. Personally I liked the 7x.020's that I used to run.

I run a 76mm s400 charger everyday. Its not a fun street charger but it pulls like a bastard.

what r u going 2 try rods
Sorry guys I have to step in here....

Please post like an adult. We appreciate you asking questions, but if you cannot punctuate, capitalize and spell whole words such as "are" and "you" then you need to go back to english class before you try your hand and your daddy's wallet at sled pulling.

Tom,
I think I've got your old Redline, I bought it and a set of 7x.018's from Craig. I notice you wrote redline and drag comp in your post. I can't get the Redline to fuel right, it will rev to 4000+ but won't add hardly any fuel. Did you try running both boxes at the same time? As it ties to this thread, I've got a GT4294 with the 1.15 turbine housing and have trouble keeping it lit at the end of the track when in higher gear. I rebuilt and re-installed a Scheid hybrid hx50 that I ran last year (68mm compressor inducer and tiny turbine housing); I have no trouble keeping it lit.

I would try a 80 a/r on that GT , say you got some 7x18 ??? same here getting ready to try them this weekend ...

You guys should try some .020's later on. That Redline worked fine for me, just make sure you have all of the connections soldered.

Now listen up, this does not work on all trucks but it has worked on two that I have personally worked on so here goes. When you hold down the red button and any black button on the redline and then just turn the ignition on it goes into a diagnostic mode. DO NOT START THE THE TRUCK. Scroll until you find the APPS sensor voltage and break out some small zipties (they will come into play a little later). Take the black cover off of the APPS unit and push the throttle pedal all the way down, you should have 3.4-3.5V, wrap ziptie's around the wide open throttle stop/APPS housing until you achieve 3.0V at wide open throttle and and tell me if it pulls like a raped ape. Hope this helps.

Tom, this could also be done on a non redline truck with a multimeter, yes?

I have never seen the need for the throttle stop on a truck without a redline.

Hmm this might work on a JVD , cause if you back off the throttle it lunges foward for that second ....

you mean that second before you go through the winshield? lol
rods to do have a hot JVD?

Its the H version :) I used it in my last pull by itself and after the pull I turned the box off and noticed the top looked funny I grabed it and it came off . It got so hot inside it warped the box and poped the top loose lol yeah its hot in both ways

I stacked it with a smarty last week and ................ We'll see what happens friday
