Alright ive been having some noise and rough running issues with my truck for a while now and im not sure wat it is for sure so i was hoping u guys could maybe help me. It doesnt seem to be getting any worse its just kind of annoying. I just replaced my VP and put a airdog 150 on and some 150hp nozzles and adjusted my valves. I dont think its the nozzles either because it did it before i put them in. Ive tryed a couple different tunes for my adrenaline but it dont seem to help at all, the comp tune made it run a little smoother but something is still wrong. Anyways when i gradualy get up to speed u can hear the motor make a knocking noise its not very loud but it kind of changes with rpm, it gets higher pitched and slightly louder with the speed of the engine. And i noticed tonight that it sounds like it missed at high rpm like around 3K. I can hear it through my back window through my stack. What would cause the miss and engine noise? Could it be a scored piston, rod knock, wrist pin or wat? Im not working right now is there any cheap way to check anything, Im not an idiot i can do everything myself i just dont know where to start. The truck does also have 225,000 miles on it also. You guys have any ideas? Anything would help Thanks

If its a scored piston or cracked ring then you should be having a substantial amount of blowby. Idle your truck hot with the oil cap off and see how much blowby you have.

Take the adrenaline off completely and try it that way. You said you tried different tunes, but I didnt read where you took it clear off. Any codes?

Alright i drove all day with the quad unplugged and the noise got quieter but its still there i think. I also took the oil cap off and it wasnt blowing out at all from wat i could tell. Is there anything else i could check with out tearing a lot of stuff apart yet? I dont wanna take the head off quite yet because ive been laid off all winter so i dont have much money to buy gaskets and such and i need it to drive. I noticed that the injection pump or maybe a line makes a slight ticking noise while idling any ideas wat that could be? Should I try to put a video on here to see if u guys can hear it? I never noticed any of these noises before i replaced the IP could it just be that its working right now?

If you've got something that will do good enough sound quality, sure post a vid/recording, that may help.
You may try at least checking your valve lash, might need adjusting too. At least pull the valve cover and make sure everything looks ok in there, thats free to do anyway...

Alright. This might be a dumb question but is that the same as adjusting them or is that something different?

It may just be the extra fuel from your nozzles as compared to the previous ones. Its fairly common to hear when you run more fuel especially if you have fairly sensitive ears.
