buddy of mine got his fummins running.. What a nice looking truck.. except theres one issue it cant spool.. Unless its hammer down..!! in over drive it lugs it and starts rolling coal. ( tq shift trans) hes running a 64/14 turbo 5x18 sac nozzles with 0.0010 pinical lift.. 24* timiming. Studs.. Pump balanced? Barrels turned, 2095 rack plug custom 131 delivery valves, Had bigger dv's at first but smoked way too much..

Is this a issue of not enough air or too much fuel? I was into 12v before all these newer tech injectors came out I was running PDR Hot 370's i like them.. lol

Thanks Ill try to post a video

He has PLENTY of fuel for that charger....you need to check thoroughly for boost leaks!

Also sounds like it could be poor AFC tuning. If it's dumping too much fuel then it could be putting out the fire.

I haven't driven it yet. Im going off of what he's told me and watching it take off. Another friend of mine who's owned many 12vs said its doggy .. so then that fuel is enough to spool it..driving down the road it makes 3psi of boost cruising .. and it hazes a little

How should this truck run? Like a bat out hell

5x.018 is a decent sized injector thats for sure. I would cut the fuel way back. Its probably just drowning the charger and it cant build enough heat to light it hard. Tune the AFC too.

3psi..........check boost leaks, check wastegate. Do nothing else until you do that.

Check exhaust manifolds while your checking leaks (if they are leaking it won't be the only problem but it will help) , along with any other bolts related to holding in pressure on the intake or exhaust side

X2

I'm running almost the same setup, cruising at around 45mph ill be around 5 pounds of boost but if i jump on it it lags for about 2-3 seconds then takes off fine, what is he pulling for boost once the charger is lit? Mine pulls somewhere around 45-50, I would suspect a boost leak,

I think it could be a gearing issue too... @ 80mph its sitting a **** hair above 1500r .. is timing too high?

Timing that high is not helping. Tune the pre-boost 1/8th turn at a time.

The wheel in the AFC housing? I forgot add more to it? or back it off..?

i was sitting at 20-22* with my truck i liked it.. I know its high timing its got that 24v vp knock sound to it.

I think he's runing 3.73's with 38's

I drove it.. it seems to boost fine as far a spool up. Goes its not that bad if your crusining 3rd gear at the 45 its sitting at like 2lbs and you blip the petal it boosts to 5-10.. it hazes driving all the time. Its 10inches on 24's on 38's with 3.73. I think it should have 4.10 or 4.55

I talked to the previous owner of the truck he knows his ****. His dad has built a few. 12vs . Is 60 psi too much pressure?

That turbo is out of its efficiency range at 60 psi. Your timing is not to high. I've run 30 psi in street trucks and even there it still spools decent just doesn't start great in winter.

Sounds like its got a boost leak to me.

Move the afc all the way back, tighten up the afc all the way, and slide fuel plate back if you can. That's what I had to do (minus the plate) to get fuel down enough to not choke it. Mine wasn't near as dramatic as yours though, definitely check boost leaks.

I meant 60 psi of fuel excuse me.. the fuel plate is MIA.

So slide the AFC houseing back then crank up the wheel?

I couldnt hear any boost leaks anywhere.. I did see some minor exhaust leaks.. I didnt think that would effect it that bad.. Its not making a ticking noise all I can see is smoke

Minor exhaust leaks is not the problem but it will help with spool, doesn't affect much once your at higher boost but with spool yes
