Should I??????

I am making bump stops today but don't have the money for the DOM for my bars so I can't do bars in time. Unless some one knows of a cheap way to do bars for now until I can do it right.

I use 2x2x.250 square tubing and have had no problems. We used 2x2x 3/16th on Fireman450's 2wd pulling the front wheels off the ground and again no signs of bowing or bending. I can make you a set of traction bars for $300+shipping, but the frame and axle brackets are weld on only.

this is for ctdiesel99 you need to look at a different clutch if your gna pull, i had it in my 00 dually and made two hooks and it was toast, just sumthing to think about. but id say pull it thats what i did n loved it.

My CR is still my daily driver and put 20 or so hooks on it this year and still drove it off the trailer when I got home and to work the next morning. Though I was always preparred if something does break. I did burn up a clutch this summer but that's just the name of the game. Hook it I don't think you'll break and if you do it won't be nothing major. Most the guys I have seen break the first time are the ones that don't know when enough is enough. Start bouncing and stay in the thorttle or pull way to high a gear.

kman i know what your talking about. I've seen numerous bozo's pulling that when the truck starts to bounce ungodly amounts, they think that means give her more hell. :what: I have never pulled and know better than that. I am going to put a DD clutch in it with billet input and hydro upgrade, bump stops and traction bars (from kino fab) and probably some headstuds just for added security. If something doesn't feel right, i'll get out of it. People can boo me all they want but im not willing to drain my bank account because of stupidity. Thanks for all the advice guys, and flatbed24valve hopefully all these questions have helped you out too.

I forgot to mention that you’re going to have to make sure you have some good laundry detergent.

The first time you hook you will need to remove the chocolate star fish from your under pants :hehe:

Just have fun man.

Lmao!!! That's good to know.

So can someone tell me how tight to strap the axle to the hitch? Just snug? As tight as I can get it?

Kino, thanks for the offer but for a little more I can make a DOM set that bolts on. That's nice of you to offer tho.

CTD99: Just et me know when you are ready to order.

FB24V:No problem. I try to help out where I can. As for the straps, you will want them pretty tight, but not so tight that you pull the rear axle backwards alot. It may move back some put no more than a 1/4-1/2". I would hook to the reece hitch aswell so that you don't over do it and bend your bumper.

Thanks ^^^^that's what I needed to know. My hitch is made into my flatbed and there are two channel irons that run down and are about 2 1/2-3 feet apart. I am going to put my straps on that C channel.

just make sure you do your homework on the track conditions so you can set your tire pressure according to that. Like for example most of the time i am around 55-60 in the rear 20-35 in front

I ran my 02 dodge this past summer and only broke two u joints, with a total of 14 hooks with 400+hp and stock dana 70 and no traction bars. I drove it to and from every pull. Plus our tracks up here are hard and sticky. Although my dana 70 is howling alittle now. So Pull It. Have a lot of fun too. Good Luck. Let us know how you do.

I don't know the first thing about "track conditions" so can some one give me a crash corse on track vs. tire pressure? What am I looking for on the track?

IF the track looks loose and sandy, lower your tire pressure. If its packed hard and tacky, raise the tire presssure up some but not too much. It will still be lower air pressure on a hrad track that if you aired them up to go on a road trip. If you drive it to the tracks, make sure you don't lower the air pressure too much to where you can't hardly drive it home. Unless you bring a big air tank.

if your goin to the one in priddy i prolly give you a lift on the flatbed trailer along with someone elses :hehe:

i thought it was a dyno in alvaredo not a pull.....i might of heard wrong

but u wanna remember to keep the rear harder because the weight of the sled will be on the tires, if you have to good of traction you could break the yoke. and like kino fab said the harder the track the harder the tire.

Thanks guys!!! I will let ya know the out come. Oh one more thing, does it make a difference in fuel level? Full vs half vs empty?
