Which way should i go? I hardly ever tow, I am leaning more towards the silver 62 but just want some suggestions. Also it is a automatic truck.

What HP Goal?
How truck used?
Going to Race?
What other mods currently?
What future mods?
Do you have gauges?

Few more details might help us help you!

I had a Silver 62 on my third gen long ago....Liked it but it was just a bit laggy'r than most 62's....But made right at 600 hp...

goal is around 500-550, dd, weekend warrior have the supporting mods just can't decide on turbo

If your ok with a bit more lag ( not really that bad ) Go with the Silver 62...It'll make more hp and keep the EGT's down better (less DP)...

Can still tow well too.

You can make that Hp goal with a 62/71/14. I know a couple of guys that run the silver, they like them but on hot humid days they are real lazy. I made 550hp with my 62/71/14 last fall, its a good all around turbo.

the 71mm wheel is lower drive than the 74mm

yes! that's why the 71 is such a good nitrous wheel, It takes a lot longer to build a lot of drive!

Well I've always understood that the bigger the turbine wheel but Lower DP and EGT's and the Higher the HP in can make....Same with Larger Exhst. housings...

For instance, a 62/65/14 will make less HP and have higher EGT's at said HP level and the Silver 62 - 62/74/14 which is rated up to about 650 hp...

I know the larger wheel spools slower but once moving, its inersia effect takes over to create less DP.....

Please, anyone else care to weigh in on this to either let me know if I'm on track or not?????

65mm and 71mm are 11 blade high drive wheel
68mm and 74mm are 10 blade high flow wheel

63/68/.8 A/R for the win

So I was correct about the 74 being lower Drive Pres.??

I agree on the mid road 68 prob. being best...

so where can you get a 63/68 .8ar at? Also how much more lag (rpm wise)would the silver 62 be to the one above. My tq converter is 2000 stall from phil at dpc.

Alright here is another thought a guy on here has a bd special for sale, now how would that fair with the others. I am thinking it would spool like the silver 62.
