How did he figure the back space when getting the rim?

Only one backspace offered for a 16x12 on 8x6.5 I am pretty sure. Just to clarify, this picture has my 2in spacers bolted before the wheel to push it out some more. The tire wasn't as wide as I was expecting and I felt they looked a lot better spaced out.

Thats hard to tell from the picture, is the rubber flush with the outside fender ?
