My 97 shortly after I brought it home. Here it already had 2.5 Skyjacker coils, 35" Courser C/T's, and tinted windows.

Right before its last trip down the track in 2010, pretty much looks the same currently just pulled the weight bar off & sold the stacks and went to a 4" out the back.

1948 ford f3

Thought I would post a few pics of the progress and a little history of my 1948 Ford F3 Cummins 3.0 Puller.

History:

Was bought 9/15/01 for $900 from a guy in Tennesse. The truck came from Mississippi and was used as a company truck by an equipment dealer. It had never been restored and came with original rust and dents.
I went to work on it that fall and winter and debued it as a pro-stock pulling truck the spring of '02. The body was mounted to a 79 f250 4wd frame. I built a 540 with one of the first set of A460 heads that IDT made. The truck was pretty competative from the start.
From there it progressed to a 598 and then a 642. I had a half back aluminum frame (which met rules but po'd some) and lost about 300lbs from the rear.
I pulled competively in Ohio pro-stock gas class untill 2006, when the class dis-banded.
I also built an all aluminum frame of which I feel would have worked very well, but due to economic times (07-09) I never got to hook it more than 3 times (I still have this frame).
The Puller basically sat in the barn from 07 thru 2011 untill I hooked in fullpull's RWYB class in 2012. I had some success in this class but was out-cubed by the Chevy boys. However, I had a lot of fun and made some new friends in my competetors.
After admiring the progression of Diesel truck pulling, I decieded to do something different and change from a Ford 642 racing engine to a Scheid built Cummins, and stretch the old ford to the 158" wheelbase that the 3.0 class allows. (stock wheelbase is 122")
I have put lots of effort and work into this and it has been well recieved by most. I do have a lot to learn in the diesel class, but feel I can make the change and be competetive this season.
Sorry for the long post....enjoy the Pics

^ I remember watching that truck as a gas truck when I was younger. Hope to see it progress into the future.

Before

Some new after pics to come in the next few months as it gets a makeover and all new drivetrain.

I remember when it was an ideal towrig with some 100hp sticks, Edge comp, and hybrid charger. It would pull a trailer like a dream...but I always wanted more.

I remember it back then! Remember the fuel line incident when it got the first set of injectors??

Thats my truck back in the day, but never had the issue you are talking about. I did have an issue once after swapping valve springs, and doing other work that I forgot to go back and torque the hold downs on the injectors, and it was pressurizing the fuel return lines and the tank until fuel was pushed out of the filler neck.

ah ok, I must have mixed it up then. I remember a MD member of MDTDC did injectors and unbolted all the fuel lines from each other, made a little bit of a mess.

Will

From work to play.
