I was driving my truck down the parkway and jus laid into it a little bit in 6th gear got to about 80 and the truck fell flat on its face. The injectors started rattling terribly, white smoke was rolling out and the truck was loping really bad just barely running. I took my smarty back to stock and it was perfect then....Im running the regular tnt and at the time sw 7 timing 3 rp 1 tq4 and the mp-8 about 70-80%. I dont really know **** about the smarty so any advice on what this is would be greatly appreciated.

What was the rail pressure? What was the lift pump pressure? Any codes? You may have finally finished off a weak injector.

I dont have a rail pressure gauge at the moment....no codes were thrown...and my lift pump pressure was about 15 or so.

Sounds like you lost an injector. You were running a lot of pressure.

Thats what everyone tells me to run it at....the truck runs perfect now like always drove it right home never missed a beat...would it still do that if I dropped an injector?

Injector rattle, white smoke, rough running, classic bad injector symptoms.

Yea but as soon as I took the smarty back to stock it was just like normal. It only acted up for like a minute or two and i pulled over shut it off took my program off and it was fine.?

I'm not a 3rd gen expert by any means but those sound like classic injector issues. Stock you probably don't have enough duration/timing/etc to hurt anything but modified you probably do. I say pull the injectors and have them tested.

haha im not either as you can tell....but we have dropped an injector in an 05 we have to pull trailers and it was stock and white smoked all the time and had a loss of power...mine doesnt seem to have either of those problems

Like I said, modified you might have a problem but stock you might not. I'll bet you have a weak injector.

So my trucks still doing the samething im almost posotive that its not the injectors because the truck runs perfect until you get on it a little and it jus shuts down and start loping and white smoking...But then ill turn it off and start it back and its fine and drives perfect no white smoke or nothing, im guessing its the tuning but im not sure? if anyone has any thoughts please let me know.

Is the smarty still off? U say it runs fine until u get on it a little then it starts messing up. Is that with the smarty on or off?

im with tyler...classic injector issues. pull them and have them tested. id be willing to be money you have atleast one bad one.

If you're still in doubt, put the smarty on a different truck and see what it does. I think it's an injector issue like what tyler and phil said.

I'm with the other guys, classic injector symptoms! Injectors are easy to pull, and get them tested. On another note i would say its time to get a rail pressure gauge with all that pressure you don't want to break a injector tip off and end up through your pistons!
