i was thinking stacking a smarty with my edge just for fun and was wondering about what it said in the differnce between the override for the trans about the diffent levels it has and how about some infor where it saying must use aftermarket injectors thanks i know its worded wrong

The smarty doesnt stack well with the hot unlock and you can not run any timing levels on the smarty, edge timing is already high and the smarty just adds way to much, really its not worth it. Bottom end will be insane and all you have to do is think about pushing the go pedal and it will take off!!!!LOL

i really hate that i cant override the toque mangement system with my edge i would like to find a used smarty for that and to run something like 65 on it for fuel that guy that said you can over ride it just by unplugging something in the computer he had not seen him in a couple days but it somppose to work and not screw up anything else

that was probably me, i switched usernames.

if you unplug the speedo from the diff it helps some. but you loose speed, odometer, sets abs/brake light.

To get rid of TQ management just pick up a BD Rad controller. If that's all you are after it's the best bang for the buck.

then you loose the whole instrument cluster. get a $3 switch and put it in the speed sensor wiring if you are willing to loose gauges, at least this way you still have gauges

what is the torque managemtn, and whats the adv. of getting rid of it??? do standard trans trucks have it???

i took mine to jim jessup and he erased tq management off of my comp. it was only 100$ and well worth it.

We run our Edge hot on level 3-4 with Smarty on 4-6 and our best 1/4mile time is 13.43sec. But some trucks are different cause a friend of ours he runs 2-3 on the Edge and 2 on Smarty and gets 13.57sec. I guest play with it and find the right Combo for the truck.

I would also like to get rid of my tq management. so what is the best way to go I would also like to keep my gauges.

jim is a guy in INDIANA. he knows his stuff about the cummins his number is812-873-7618

i just called jim. he said what he can remove is drivetrain protection, i dont know if that is what im dealing with, or if you guys are. Im getting a hard fuel cut at the top end of 1st gear, 2 or 3 of them actually, then it shifts to 2nd and spins the tires for 30-50 feet.

yea i thank that is it. mine if you boosted it up to launch it it would start to take off and than it would start cutting fuel like your were turning your box up to higher levels.

well the only issue for me is id have to drive out there, he needs the whole truck, not just the ecm.

I never thought of this.

When mine went out( piece of broken gear came up and smashed it) I drove it for a little while and only lost the speedo. It took few miles to trip the brake and abs light.

If this gets rid of 100% of tq managment then whats the point in getting a bd rad? It sets lights and codes off and you lose some gauges. Only diff. I see is that the bd rad has a switch inside, but whats 2 seconds to reach under and unplug/plug the sensor??
