it doesnt completely eliminate it, only the speed portion of it. the ecm still cuts fuel for first and 2nd gear.

the bdrad taps into the CCD wire to the ecm, i dont know what it does between the switch and that wire, it may just create an open.
 
where is the sensor on the truck if its under the dash which one
 
That's what I love about it and the 2nd gen's have I think the fastest update it only takes me maybe 2 minutes tops to change mine.
 
smarty is well worth it. gives you high idle in winter, it has high timing if you want to run a fuel only box, code reader, speed eliminator, and fine fuel tuning. I wouldn't trade mine for anything and it runs very well with a drag comp vs. without it.
