Smokin' Hot Hooker gets a win, although ugly

I have an 06 w/ DDP 200's, twin cp3's, htt 66/13 over s480, tuning I am using tnt-r, tst, and mp-8. TST and mp8 are only used during sled pulling and drag racing. Ryan, I have had a similar issue as you have in you video maybe not a flame but definately a load pop out the stack when running the truck with the smarty on the street under low boost and throttle position over about 35%. Smarty settings range from 3 to 8 with the timing on 1 to 3. The poping is not as harse the more the timing is decreased but still is there. Now when I run it on the street the smarty is also off granted the performance is not the same but smoke is more controllable, the timing rattle is not as bad and don't seem to get popping.

Beaner...you got balls...I wouldn't have stayed in it with that much hop....even now that my trucks a dedicated puller. LOL

My truck popped and shot flame out the stack in broad daylight at Mercer. I think it is because of the pilot injection going off and having a hard time getting the fuel lit. Mine was hanging like it was loaded up then BANG. Reved up just fine after that. Ran good this week.

Go to the pulloff. I am the tan and black GMC.

Wow that sucks the engine melted down it seemed like you were having good luck with the truck recently.

Bean, sorry dude, quick question is 3/0 on the TST adding timing or just duration? I wouldn't think if you had been running timing advance of 2 on the Smarty with no TST it would have been that bad.

Well that sucks hope i dont have the same problems. Im not running a tst and i run smarty on timming #3

Its the old TST so yes it adds timming, I am told about 12 degrees. That combined with the Smarty is bad juju.

I was running an old tst as well, but recently took it off and am just running the smarty and the mp8. I talked to John at floor it and he was telling me to run the smarty timing on 2 and put the rail pressure on 4 and turn the mp8 up to about 75%. To me that sounds like a ton of pressure but it seemed to run good the last time I hooked to the sled.

Man you usally see like 1 or 2 melted not usually all 6? man something was defiantly wrong? Really think it came from the added timing? What kind of setup did you run last year when you did well at Scheids? Same setings with the TST and Smarty??

That'll put a warm fuzzy feeling the in belly of those who think ceramic coat is the ticket.

It don't look like there is a speck of it left anywere.

Last year at scheids I had smaller injs and ran the timming off on the smarty. When I pulled the motor over the winter I had two pistons that had a small melty spot on them but who knows when that happened.
