something wrong with new truck

i just bought a 2000 single cab long bed 2wd for a farm truck and it started having some problems.

it doesnt do it all the time but it does it evryday.

ill be accelerating and it feels like it shifts into OD then its like i have no power at all and i can put it to the floor and the rpms wont even go up.

this mornin it wouldnt even go faster than 30mph.then i pulled over and put it in neutral and it would not rev higher than 2500 rpms.so i killed the truck started it again and now its running fine so far.

i replaced the fuel filter and that stopped it for awhile but now it seems like its worse and it does it at lower speeds.
truck is 100% stock.
i was wondering if aanyone on here had similar problems or knew a solution.

i havent been able to get them read but i looked at a similar thread about the APPs thing and i will look into that as soon as i get out of school in 30 mins
 
I dont know the year cut off,Try the key trick.On-off,on-off,on-off,on read the odometer for codes.
 
ok i will go get them read today then.
this morning when it wouldnt go any faster than 30 i just pulled over and restarted it then it was fine till i left for lunch and it did the same thing again.

It does this hot or cold it doesnt matter.
