Im having my tranny rebuilt and my planetary is alumniun. Is it worth the money for a steel planetary. truck is just a tow rig prolly never will be over 500hp but im having the tranny built to take it.

Thanks

Is this for your 96? If so the front planetary should be steel from the factory. The only alum planetary is the rear of the interimediate shaft. The rear one is stronger than most think it is. I run a alum rear on my drag truck with no issues.

It is defiantly worth the money. i striped mine on my truck at the track last year launching around 10psi or so. If your in there i would do it!

My 95' Junker is still running an aluminum planetary front and rear. I plan to closely inspect the front planetary this week when I tear down the tranny, I can't wait to see how it looks.
