Just talked to Days Inn. They have:

2 Double Non-Smoking rooms
11 Double Smoking rooms
20 King bed rooms (approximate number)

She said both the Econo Lodge (aka Knights Lodge) and the Best Value Inn are close, but not close enough to walk.

comming i20 but looks like it is better to go around the bottom of birmingham

but i want to fill up before i get to the track so looking for the truck stops?

there is a truckstop at the steele exit!! its across the interstate from the track

id say if you are coming on I-20, go to 459 to 59, whereever you are comin from 59 through birmingham is the worst they call it malfunction junction so if you can avoid it at all do soo...

the steele exit doesn't have a cracker barrel or dq, but the attalla/rainbow city exit where the hotels are does!!

the gates open a 8:30ish to 9:00

as far as brews there are a couple of places downtown gadsden that are pretty good
