street semi truck pulls

As with any pulling truck final drive ratio is very critical...but WOW! The hottest are all leaving the line in the high side or they are in the low side with an 18 or 15 spd trans, the shifting is being done by the gear splitter so the clutch is never released.

its just way different driving than i have seen in the street class. thanks for explaining the setup dont have much of a clue with a big truck

Those crazy frenchmen are about the only ones who shift under load! We generally run in 4th direct or 4th over depending on horsepower and gears. a good 2250 or 2450 clutch is a must!

I was waiting for drive shafts to go flying with them shifting but still neat

I got all my semi truck videos from Hillsboro 2010 posted in my youtube account...I will post some from 2008 if I can...

Search " loganstanforth " to find all kinds of videos...

They are no crazier than what we used to do. I drove tri-axle dump with a few other guys for a few years, the road out of the one quarry had a small town where you had to stop and turn right onto a very steep grade. It was one of the only places that I used the splitter on the low side of the 18speed and you'd dare not touch the clutch pedal or you'd stop instantly, I could pull out and go half a gear at a time up that hill topping it at 35 mph, the best a 13speed could get was one shift.

Those Canadian trucks are on the high end of streetable, even with an ECM swap after the pull it would still be pushing it to run one with a loaded trailer behind it for any amount of time.

They also spend alot of time and money installing the shifting cogs out of the newer auto shift trannies in the old style boxes, they say they have more clearance so the shifts can be made faster. Most of these guys also do the uphill drags with trailers on.

There are only a select few street truck down here that run like that, being that some of them are putting between 1100-1400hp to the ground it almost puts them in class with the ostpa prostock class.

Also for the classes they would have to compete in down here they wouldn't be allowed to shift, at least it's in the rules for the super semis and the prostock trucks.

Didn't that boy with the blue Pete twist his input shaft or something Friday at Hillsboro and you helped him swap it...

I wonder how much hp the street truck have no one says a thing.
I'd like to see street vs mod semis

A few years ago we had a prostock truck show up and pull with our street class and with our sled setting he put 60+ feet on the first place truck and had to shut it down.

After talking to a few sled operators it soul be very hard for a true street truck to even start a sled off the line that was set for the super semis.

The HP numbers are going up in the classes around here, used to be a truck that put 6-700hp to the ground was all you needed, now with all the go fast parts coming out for the electronic engines it's getting harder to make a mechanical engine compete and still be streetable.

Actually it was the blue coe international and it twisted the main shaft in the tranny, it's the same thing that happened to that green international s series. I have done it as well. Seem to only happen when we pull in the high side in the low hole, I did it trying out a new gear. The tell-tale sign is not being able to get the truck in reverse.

470+ feet to Eddie's 360+ feet wasn't it? The blue COE KW that rolled in on the detach?
