Stuck in 2nd

Transmission is stuck in second gear. It will not shift down or up. It will not even shift if I try it manually. I believe it is probably the shift solenoid but I am not sure. If it is the shift solenoid where is it located and how hard is it to change? If anyone thinks differently please let me know.

Sure it is stuck in second and not 3rd? I would say it is limp mode.

Is it auto if so Your trans don't have shift solenoids only lock-up & 4th gear is electronicaly controlled. your problem sounds like governor pressure switch and-or transducer both are in the valve body i'd take it to a trans shop have them test drive it with a scanner so they can pin point which sensor most of the time they dont charge for that

Yea it is an auto. I just got it rebuilt with Goerend parts. I will have to take it back to the guy who assembled it for me.
