Surging Issues

Well more often than not it does nothing .

Biggest issue we as VP owners have is grounding issues . There as many as 7 grounding points all from time to time need attention. Two at the fenders , two at the batteries, two at the block and one half way back for the engine harness that is always over looked. There is even a static ground from the PCM to the righthand side fender.

Battery voltage is critical to as well. Batteries may be X amount of years old but this means nothing until you load test them for 15 second to see if they maintain a minimum of half the CCA's rated on the battery.

I understand that it may not help all the time, but it cant hurt to try it. How bout unhook the batteries while you clean the connectors and each of the seven grounding points?

Agreed.

The grounding points at the block are the big concern. They will always rust and cause all sorts of drivability issues.

My recommendation to anyone is use maintenece free batteries, then it's no more issues with acid corroded terminals.

But and I say but ,they too from time to time will need attention as well. Even though you remove the terminal and it looks clean, oxidation will still cause problems.

Use a product called NOCO ,it is a battery terminal protector that will stop this . I also use it at the block grounding points. Never use grease as it will wick down between the terminals and cause problems , especially with the charging system. Greasing the terminals is old school and has no place in todays electronics.
