System 1's oil filters aren't just economical--they also perform. The wire mesh that actually strains the oil in these filters can capture particles as small as 30 microns. Moreover, tests have found that these wire mesh filters enter bypass 500 to 600 RPMs higher than typical paper filters.
All filters include a bypass to allow oil to be diverted around the filter without being cleaned when the flow pressure is too high. This safety mechanism ensures that your oil filter doesn't starve the motor or burst at high RPMs. Because of the durability of these reusable wire mesh filters, however, they are able to continue filtering your oil and protecting your engine at higher speeds than their disposable counterparts.
