Testing a different turbo setup

i am betting that with a new larger more efficient turbo boost will drop for same horsepower level.. i bet pressure ratio is higher on the new one too, ao it qont be working near as hard...
cant wait to see definitely a good comparison!!

higher pressure ratio = more bost

he will turn boost down to maintain current power level with ability for higher boost with more efficiency.

The bigger wastegate and bigger turbine would result in lower drive pressure and more top end power. I don't want to shoot in the dark with quantitative predictions.

Thinking top end will be better for sure, torque may suffer @ 601hp Im at 1280ftlb now. Hard to say Ill find out...lol

Next after the HT4C goes on. I may be testing a HTT Pro Street 71. Gotta love winter time all the high HP trucks are geting engines built and I steal the old parts....:hehe:

Big Thanks To SHughes For The Use Of The Charger !!!

You can keep the 62 if you buy me a 66 :poke: or maybe that 71 :hehe:

And I a think a wastegate is a good idea...could be why I was so low on power!! LOLLOLLOLLOL

Looks like Sat. is gonna be a busy day, 4 others dynoing also...:rockwoot:

So you're deffinately going on Saturday? I'll be there..wanna borrow the P7100 too and see what it'll REALLY make?? Just kidding, I'm gonna be stingy with that (unless you already put it on) LOL

we're gonna find out just how well Lloyd's load cell works for spooling a big single

I know where there is a really nice HTT PS66/71/13SS at for your truck Scott.

I'd like to go to the PS71 for mine as a single.

dang you guys are having a mini dyno event ... I may make the trip to sit back and watch

Drove the truck a good bit today. Crusing @ 2,000rpm on level highway the egt's and the boost were the same 9psi and 750deg. Spool up is about 200rpm sooner, Wide open EGT's slowed way down and dropped about 150-200deg. Also boost seemed to increase about 5psi to between O & W on the gauge, so whatever that is. Havent sprayed meth yet Ill save that for Sat. Im thinking overall it helped and I may pick up around 10-20hp.

good to hear! sounds like you've got a more efficient top turbo and it's able to feed the bottom turbo some heat to get lit up sooner

Sounds like "Cooper Tuned" took on a new meaning! I can't wait to hear the dyno report!

that top turbo is the one i made 795 with (plus the HT4C he's going to add later) and drove on the street with NO smoke and full cuts!!! i think hats the meaning of "CooperTuned" I need another sticker on my truck Coop.

Nah man Lloyd built it, I just tinkered

Im tiging up some sweet spring wastegate bracket thingys kinda like this but for the HX35 and HX40 as well as the S300 stuff...

pretty sweet. it lets gate open under drive pressure?, also looks adjustable?

yeah, they've been out for years :o
it doesn't surprise me, and looks to be very effective.... all i have heard about is leaving the wastegate open on the 35 or getting a larger housing.
what is this device actually called? pardon the stupid
