Anyone else get butterflies in their stomach before they pull? I do. Terribly. Haha. When I pull onto the track and hook up to the sled I feel like my heart is in my throat! Its kinda crazy to get all worked up over it but for some reason I just cant help it. Heck most of the time I dont even eat supper until after I pull cause Im so anxious/nervous:doh: Im no verteran truck puller, but Ive probably got at least 75 hooks under my belt, but its still the same everytime:cheer:

I've never pulled, but I always get the butterflies when I line up at the drag strip... or back in the day at the street races... gotta love it! :rockwoot:

Yeah I get em when drag racing too, but not nearly as bad as slep pulling. I reckon im just more of a puller than a racer.

I don't know about you guys :homo:

I get something else :hehe::hehe::hehe::rockwoot::rockwoot::rockwoot:

Butterflies :hehe::hehe::hehe:

i dont know about you guys but i get a woody when im about to embarrass a car that weighs half as much as me. Maybe i love my truck too much?:hehe::tree:

Heck I get so damn worked up that I can barely hold the pedals down because my legs are shaking so damn bad. But whether I am pulling the truck or one of the tractors, Once I let off on the brake or let the clutch out it all goes away. After that my first stop is the poop facilities.

i agree. The time i took my truck to the track, my left foot that controlled the clutch was shaking like an sob. I still got pretty good 60 foot times in retrospect, but i was nervous as hell that i might blow a hg. Didnt stop me from running 11 times down the quarter though on my stocke clutch and turbo.

cant eat till after if not i just and in my own place thinking of what could go wrong then it all throttle the rest of the way to the end

Heck, I got nervous just going over the scales. :D Suffice it to say, the knees were knocking something fierce by the time I was backing 'er to the sled. So much going on, I don't think I hit full throttle 'til about the 100' mark. Then about the 250' mark I hit what felt like a crater and let out of it and got back into it. I let out of it so hard, the front weights plowed the ground and flung dirt. :eek: Seeing the video, the run was silky smooth though. :crazyeyes: It's amazing how big a bump feels with the bump stops in. So yeah, I got nervous as heck the first hook! My second hook was the hometown hook and I was very nervous there too but did a much better performance. Actually went full throttle appropriately and stayed on the floor til flagged. Didn't finish too great but finished appropriately for what I have done to the truck compared to what I was hooking against. :D Needed better tires.

So yeah, I get/got tore up too. I'd say if you don't, you might as well not waste your time and money. Why do it if it's not a thrill for you???

The first hook as described above... VIDEO. I'm the last hook in thsi clip. :clap: :doh:

I get 'em too josh, and the bigger the crowd the worse it is, or when I'm the last hook and I know what I have to beat to win...so much more pressure.

I also have never been a man of many prayers, but I always say a little prayer when I'm on deck to the tune of: let the run go smooth with out any major accidents and as little carnage as possible.

I don't get butterflies truck pulling but I did get them when I used to pull a minirod with 120mph tire speed and the motor hitting 9000+ and the front tire of the ground about a foot going from oneside of the track to the other.
I will most likly get them when we get the 2wd down and start pulling it.

When I was pulling tractors, I would be going over my hookup check list while waiting in line..Remember to turn the fan and fuel pump on when you snap the clutch in, look for the soft spots in the track and avoid them, etc.

Once I was on the track, the anxiousness and such was gone....It was just the moments leading up to driving on the track that made my head spin.

Josh, you can feel your stomach? I can't feel mine, but I still get the butterflies. My first pull, my hand was shaking so bad, I don't even think I had the lever pulled all the way back...lol

I've been pulling trucks since 1985, and diesels since 97, and I get the jitters before I pull every time ! I wouldn't trade the rush for anything.

My wife almost pukes before she pulls her gasser ! GOOD STUFF !

I'd have to 2nd Smokeshow, but I also get cottonmouth really bad and usually don't eat much after lunch the day of. People ask me why I would pull a truck I drive everyday, risking tearing it up and all I can say is that it's the closest thing I have to the rush of playing football and it's a whole hell of a lot more fun than drag racing to me.

I love it. I get butterflies bad, its a straight adrenelin rush. When we get to the trak and after I unload the truck Im straight business until I pull then I let loose and have a good time

I found something to cope with that I started having just a beer or two before I pulled to take the edge off. Before I got so nervous at the beginning of the year I forgot to unlock the convertor the first 2 pulls one night and killed the truck. Good thing I nosed it into the drainage ditch at the end of track or I would of looked like a real dumb a@@

I have also found this makes a diff as well.:Cheer: Liquid courage!! Same goes for after the pull. Whether I do good or break stuff, Party's on!!.:rockwoot:

I hate my shaking left leg on that heavy a$$ clutch. I try not to eat much either, something about 1,000 people watching make me nervous.
