The cutting fuel saga has come to an end!!!!!!!!!!

Well after i pulled the adr off the truck started right up and was fine codes were gone.

I just decided to put the harness on. Wasnt too bad of a deal i used a 01 harness. Ran the harness that goes to the back of the bock around the engine instead of under the vac. pump.

Got it on and all i have is the smarty and i really cant tell if its there or not. Seems as thought its not. I just dont know if i am getting enought timing with the smarty on 9 or not. Guess we will have to see when i get the adr back.

LOLLOL Bet i had yall going for a sec. Well i am sure that is many of you that have been following my issue with my truck cutting fuel. Anyways Lastnight i installed my 2 bran new Optima red tops. This morning i go out and start the truck up and head out. I get 2 blocks and the truck kind of white smokes and sputters and dies. I pull my smarty out and there were 3 codes 1693, 0252, 0253.

What the hell is going on with the damn truck. I completely give up.*bdh**bdh**bdh*

This will fix it

if everything i have done this far hasnt fixed the problem a Ppump wouldht fix it cause it would be a mechanical problem. Unless a ppump likes a cam a tooth off. if the harness doesnt fix it then i have no clue..

I say it would fix it 1 no VP 2 no harness ... only way if its not those 2 things is the Cam in the engine causing a miss and everything that is attached to it

I done my conversion for less than a HRVP cost alone

my buddy bryce has a 02 smarty stacked with the adr and it burnt up too. Quad will replace with a new one. Supposadly happens frequent on trucks that are hard to start or crank alot ie hot rod pumps with oversize lines that die all the time. Tim

Mines a 01 and there a little different on things u need than a 00 and down

I used alot of my 24v stuff , all my fuel fittings worked my throttle cable and bracket even the spring loaded lever , I made my own throttle return linkage , the oil line I teed off the vaccum , then the hard parts lines and CPS adaptor, I really cant beleive I done it cause I was a die hard VP man , I dont think the way it is now its not much more power but I got more RPMS and I hope the pump last longer than 1 year

I walked out that morning and bumped it over and it fired right up like it does every morning. Truck has never had a hard starting issue always just turns over and its running.

Maybe it was because of my dual vps!!!!!

What did you do about the crank pickup????
Do all your guages work???

01/02 only uses the cam sensor , I got the CPS adaptor from Haisly 70$??? and also on the 01/02 u dont have to remove the cam gear so IMO it was easy , it was the odds and ends that took a little while

Yes all my guages work , i do have a some pump codes tho LOL

Crank pickup? I assume you mean the Cam sensor. It is simple enough to make work. The 01-02 is just offset a little from the standard 12 valve location. When it is in there correct, everything will turn on and work like normal, except just the typical check engine light from no vp communication.
