The tale of two virgins!!

Wunderwood,

I have the switch, just havent rewired it yet. Plan to do this tomorrow. Im working 16hr days and trying to work on lil bros truck when I get home.. Not getting much done.

the headlight switch burns out. it's a somewhat common problem. you will need to get a new switch and the accompanying wiring to fix it.

When the headlight switch goes out, is it common for just the dash lights to stop working? Headlights and everything else still works via the switch.

check for leaks in the vacuum harness that can cause the abs/brake light to stay on. test by turning on the hvac and if the mode only goes to defrost, then you have a vacuum leak.

Checked this and it doesnt seem to be the problem. Thanks!

Hey guys!! I got the truck legal today. yay. well on that note i ran into an underline problem, with the truck dieing when I hit the breaks to go to stop. Need some help trouble shooting this problem!!

To elaborate on the lil Brothers post since they dont teach you how to spell in the ARMY!

The dash lights and ABS issues have been fixed for the time being. He got the truck inspected and then decided that he was going to drive 45 minutes to go get some american kitty instead of the Korean version he has been so used to. LOL :poke:

This is in his words so excuse any miscommunication. On the way home, the truck began to die when hitting the brakes. It happend on four seperate ocassions.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? Im not sure where to start looking on this one.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. I should be back tomorrow to begin troubleshooting the issue...

What RPM does it idle at when warm? Its low idle should be at least 750RPM in gear with the AC on.

Are you running the AC when it dies when you are coming to a stop (on the brakes, engine running low RPM)?

If the low idle is set to low it will stall at low RPM, especially with the AC on.

You can adjust the idle higher if you want it to start a little easier (with no to little pedal) and or live in a cold climate area (easier cold starts and warm-up) .

Auto or manual?

Here is how you adjust the low idle: http://dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/adjustments/2nd_Gen-Idle.htm

I dont think that is the problem. I bumped the idle up to 1,000 rpm two nights ago. The A/C compressor is out and the previous owner has the belt routed around the compressor. I have all the parts necessary to replace but have yet to do so. Truck is idiling around 900 when warm.. Its an auto btw...

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks guys!! :thankyou2:

Update.....

Trans is low on fluid. Hoping the stalling issue is related.... Will update more tomorrow..
