This is a question about a headlight.

...I'm not kidding.

SO, it was time again to replace a bulb and as usual when that time rolls around, I can get the light out in 20 seconds, but re-installing it is a cruel joke played on the consumer by Dodge.
Is there some super simple trick I've missed for the last three years as to how to re-install the little plastic piece that turns and latches onto the casing like a jar lid other than fumbling around down there for more time than any person humanly has patience for to get it to line up?

I've considered super glue. I kid you not.

I've had the same thought! :hehe: :hehe:

We had to change one way out back in the pits with nothing but a Bic lighter for light. The stock headlight assemblies are engineered by sadists.

Thank you!
It's not just me...I say we get together and go pummel the man responsible for it.

Actually, a female designed light housings that hold your bulbs..

Enjoy administering your lynching...:D

As small as your womens hands are...Just think how hard it is on us men with Large hands. BTW I owned a 95' so I know there a PITA!

...... I've never had a problem installing headlight bulbs. I do however turn into a brainless idiot when it comes to adjusting the level of the headlight.

Don't even get me started there, Anna.
My truck's got one lazy eye that's out looking for UFO's.

So they are just an overall totally screwed design.

My truck used to resemble a lazy eyed psycho. It really pissed off people in oncoming traffic!!
I say we invite the designer to a pull or race we will both be at, have her change our bulbs, adjust them properly, and then stash her in the tool box until we need her again....

They aren't that bad, just cop a quick feel of the exterior.....feel that bump there? And that other bump....mmmm....there? Now there is one more bump that is a bit bigger than the rest..reach for it........reach for it.....THERE! Now, look down and find the biggest slot for that big tab to fit into...see it? No, no, you have to move your hand...there it is! Now, when you reach down to get it in make sure that big slot is about a quarter turn counterclockwise from the big tab, you have to hold it in your hand juuuust right. Now reach down and slide it in, once it's in give a push and a twist, should seat fully in the socket. :D

I really don't have to much trouble with putting them in in this manner, another option is to stick it all up there and turn the lock collar backwards (reverse rotation) until it slips on the tabs. Once that happens all you have to do is push in and twist in the correct manner.

She's talking about headlights, Billy....Not inflateable farm animals..:hehe:

Easiest way I've found to change them is to take out the battery box. But then again I usually have more time on my hands than most.

Holy God. I really need to not laugh so loud at work...they are gonna KNOW for sure I'm in here reading Comp D.

Yes, the lights are a PITA. I hate them. The whole design sucks. After a lot of miles off road, like my pasture chasing calves (no scott, not for that reason) the adjusters break. Shieces of pit I tell ya. Good luck. Turn off the lights and put some hair around the hole, they'll go right in. :D

Every time.
Every freaking time.

....Hence why I love y'all so darned much.

It's still not in there...The last time this happened I caught the casing on fire. Totally different story, and no, I won't tell it.
