It's on my to-do list this weekend and I've read up on it...just wondering if anyone has any tips.
Motors I know....transmissions I generally leave to the experts. LOL

Hold your throttle down to the floor and adjust your tv cable to full stroke at the lever on the trans.

You got it !!!!!!!!! Slide your seat forward, use a long ratchet, torque wrench, stick, or whatever you can find. Shove the pedal to the floor and wedge your whatever you use against the seat to hold the pedal to the floor and make sure your TV cable is pulling full stroke by pushing against the linkage arm on the TV shaft. If it is not pulling full stroke release your pedal and gently bend your bracket the holds your TV cable so that it will pull further.

Agreed with what they said. I used a brick to lay on the pedal. I do not know if you have all of the dodge linkages in your ford but if you do there is a little black box looking thing (poor description) by the pump that the cable comes up to and runs through it. On the drivers side, there is a side of the box that can be pushed in. Push it in with the back of a screwdriver and you can move the whole cable assmble back and forth some. It is pretty hard to push in b/c the spring behind it is so heavy and it does not go very far but that will allow for some adjustment.

I've set mine, same as described above, and i get even more of a lag for the 2-3 shift - and most times have had to let off the throttle for it to shift. Before this adjustment, someone had it adjusted too tight, and I was not getting full pedal travel (and a 250rpm lower rev limit...doh, and probably the reason for the better shifting?)

Maybe it's time to fab a spring-loaded TV lever arm

I thought there was a bracket in the engine compartment where you just released a latch and slid the cable one way or another?? No??

you can adjust it from the TPS by removing the clip, but since you have to go under the truck to see if its at full stroke, just take a pliers with you and bend the bracket.

little off topie but i have a 47rh in my '95 play toy that i have.
Tranny is built by me and a buddy (billet everythin pretty much, DTT valve body)
Anyways.... this started after the last time i had the trans out. 1st to 2nd shift is normal. Then almost as soon as it shifts into 2nd, it then shifts almost directly into third. Then the third to fourth shift is normal as far as rpm and time/throttle load.
like is said, under normal and even high throttle, as soon as it shifts into second, it might stay in second for 1-3 seconds before luggin it down into third.
TV cable out of adjustment??

I can't answer that question but mine was out quite a bit and after adjusting it it now shifts perfect.

Here's the tip I used and it worked perfectly:

Adjust the cable at idle. set the cable so it lines up with the lever at idle. make sure the socket on the cable it is not forward or behind the ball on the lever.
start there, you may or may not have to bend the bracket depending on v/b settings. when you set it this way then you know line pressure is starting to rise when you push on the throttle. setting it at wide open is great if you drive full bore all the time. it should also be all the way back at full throttle or close.
Start here and then you can go click by click at the engine to fine tune it on the road.

I had to change the 2-3 spring in the valve body to get my quick shift to go away...

Prick...mine is the heaviest DTT has, and still shifts 2-3 at about 26mph. That's the only gripe I have with my tranny, is we can't get that shift right.

This works great as long as your tv lever doesnt become your throttle stop instead of your pump lever. Meaning your tv lever comes to a stop before you have full fuel stroke of your pump lever. This can become a issue with the tv bellcrank on the valve body. (bend, distort, break, etc) Just be sure that you have full line pressure or damn close before full power comes on. That will create havoc on your trans if you have amount of power. Just my $.02

I double checked it at full travel...I just set it initially at idle.
Everything was perfect both ways.

Pretty much just what my builder has done...I don't want to screw this thing up. I've got the heaviest shift springs DTT offers, as far as I know at least. Builder adjusted my TV cable.

Don't get me wrong, it's OK how it is, but I'd like to get the 2-3 shift up to about 40mph.

Does anyone know what would it do to have the the TV lever at half or 3/4 throttle position at idle?? Any downfalls to that? Would it hurt anything? What effect would it have on shifts?? Later, sooner??

Mine(Dave G trans) wont shift unless you leave off the throttle.

You will probably break the cable, and then proceed to smoke the tranny.
BPonci had a different lever that looked pretty cool. Or there is a stop screw you can adjust on the VB to only let the throttle valve return to 50%. It will make your shifts later and more firm, and might even cause it to hang in gear.

Dan, can this stop screw be adjusted to say let the throttle valve only return to 10% 20% or 30% etc.?

Chris DTT has many spring rates for the VB springs between all shifts. Really no limit. Although they may suggest a limit on their product. Give them a call. They are easy to install into the side of the VB. I have a whole bag of then at home a play with. Can also ask about differ valves as well.
