what can be done to improve spoolup? porting wastegate? turbine housing? anything? just wondering if there are any tricks to make an off the shelf s300hybrid better?

No, I guess I didn't explain, I wanna know if there is anything you can do to the turbo to help!

Whatever you can do to move air through the engine more efficiently will improve spoolup. Matching the fuel to available air will also show benefits.

What are the numbers on the turbo?

there is a top and a bottom to the gasket, make sure you position it the same on both parts

dont just match it to the gasket, get rid of the dams in the housing

you better get the gate updated tho cuz it puts extra pressure on the arm

least thats been my experience

ps - stainless is not a lot of fun to port

not at all

even with the best equip there is (dumore)

It's just a 62/71, but i was just wondering for not only this but the future! just wondering what "can" be done to improve these turbo's!

You can port/tweak the exhaust housing final tail/nozzle/deflector fin to aim exhaust flow at the furthest tips of the turbine wheel. Directing exhaust pulses to the tips of the turbine wheel will give in more leverage on the shaft and thus create more shaft torque to spin the compressor wheel.

The downside is that you can create unwanted turbulence that can hinder topend flow. If the wastegate is functional, I don't think you need to worry too much about top end exhaust flow.

please elaborate a little more on this!

i wonder why a bunch of comp d s-300 users dont get together and do a extrude hone deal getting batch pricing

i think that would be sweet

(having the volutes flawless and smooth)
