Ok which tire and wheel to look at for pulling the sled, was looking at 17x9 Black rock crawlers with 33x12.50x17 MT Baja Claws or Swamper Traxus STS, lookin for something in that tread design. My toyo Proxes didnt do me any good last weekend at Sturgis, ky

most people say the truxus sts or bfg all terrain is what they like the most. I priced the truxus and good luck finding them new for under a grand

thats the price i had in mind spending on tires, i've found the black wheels with baja claws for 1400 new

No ditch the baja claw idea and get trxus! buddy and 2 sets of tires and wheels this summer the STS's and the claws and the claws didn't work near as good as the STS's. I bought my STS's for 850 dollars which isn't bad for a 17inch wheel. The BFG's would be my second choice.

i was just thinking the claws cause they was like a bar tire, but i've seen alot of STS used, i hadnt decided yet. just getting some in put.

I've seen claws work, but they have to be wore down to were the is only 10-20% tread left. Brand new claws are drivetrain busters...

i dont want to be busting up my drive train. i've already got a set of buckshot radial mudders that bout 40% tread just got to get a set of rims for em. wasnt sure if they would work good enough

you gonna drive these tires on the street? if so, the sts won't make as good of pulling tires cause they'll wear pretty fast on the road and knock the edges off. If the tires are gonna be on the street, I'd go with BFG AT or Mastercraft Courser CT. If they are just for pulling, STS all the way IMO.

they be just for pulling i have a brand new set of toyo proxes st2 on truck right now. i pulled with them last saterday nite and didnt have much luck with em. was building truck for drag racing but local strip has closed do to owner not wanting to lease again this year so changing truck to pull sum

The Baja Claws are way too aggressive and dig ditches cousing you to loose alot of momentum on the far end. We learned that along time ago when the Claws first came out using them on our 2wd gasser truck. If you still want to stick with Mickey Thompson, go with the Radial ATZ's. I ran mine all season last year and absolutly loved them. Other wise the Truxxus STS's or the BFG A/T's would be my next picks.

thanks for all the info, guess im gna try the STS or the Atz. wondering on rims or to use my stock one's

i bought a brand new set of 33.12.5.r16 STSs for 500.00 bucks and put them on some 16x10s i had in garage, if ya look around you can find STSs for a good price

there is a big price difference between 16s and 17s. i paid $260 each when i bought my 17s. they are well worth the money

you really wanna try out your're driveline, Dick Cepek Crushers, they work awsome on loose tracks, and not too bad on hard-pack clay, but you def need some ass to turn them, and they look sick as hell

my buddy got a set of 16'' crushers at his tire shop, i've looked at em but figured they be a drive train buster. to much like a bogger.

where did you find them that cheap?

sorry i may have been miss leading when i said brand new, i bought them off here from a member that bought them brand new and never used them, so they are new just not from a vender new, but seems like they come around for sale pretty often.

just curious what is the difference between mounted on 17in verse 16in, that makes such improvement? thanks
