Top feed 24v injectors.

I would say Meacham would have to own some stock in Aeroquip! it drives me nuts everytime I buy those darn expensive fittings! nice engine settup though...
off topic sorry....continue on

I guess the next question is: what HP level does this become nessicary/ greatly bennificail? Over 1200?

So are they JD or IH, and does aneyone have a dighram of the head work needed? thanks aney more info would be nice

What kind of stock application would use these? Wouldn't that application need to have corresponding valve covers and heads to make it work?

The top-lines clear the valve train without modification? You just drill holes in the injector hold downs or do you need custom ones?

Am I missing something?

I'm guessing the injector hold downs become more closely related to 3rd gen injectors............ I guess the bodies too huh? Or am I way off track? ( what I'm saying is the injector is physically longer and the hold down is a ring around the body, not a cap like stock...)

Head has to be machined for the injector. It's alot like a 12v injector in the 12 0'clock position. Threads have to be cut into the head for the JD collar.

Meacham went back to a 12v head and injectors.......

So these are for John Deere engines and just happen to be close to the right size to fit into an ISB?

I know alot of people use DT 466 injectors. Can dump alot more fuel and mounts like a 12 valve injector with threads. I wouldn't consider doing them for any daily driver. Basically just for Full Mod Sledpulling or Drag Racing.

I posed the same question awhile back .

KDEL is a style of injector most will have a SAC nozzle .

You have to tap a 27x1.50mm hole in the 24v injector hole.

Ok, so we tap the injector bore, plug the fule return rail, what about the O.E. connector tube inlets? leave them open or plug?

When I spoke to Keating he said he done the valve cover for one of those trucks, Ohio CAT iirc. He is doing the stix for the red truck, Im still undecided if the top feed is really worth it.

Seems the only gain is the top feed, after talking to St. Joseph that seems marginal. However a set of dual feed 24V stix from them is $2200 with any nozzle you want.

Yes you have to cut the VC too and the return comes back up through the VC then from #1 you daisy chain them with diesel return hose much like the same hose used in the older NA 6.9 PS.

The pysical length of the injector is around 7" with a body width of 53/64ths.
