towing in overdrive

Does anyone run a secondary trans cooler (with elec. fan) and see a big difference in towing temps in OD...?

I bought one a couple of months ago and haven't installed it yet. Next week I'll be towing a 9600# travel trailer for about 100 miles. It would be nice to know that this type of mod would make a significant difference in trans towing temps.

i just got a elect. fan on the front of my stock cooler works great but if you tow all the time get a second cooler or a bigger one i am going to get a second on i tow alot of heavy and long times

Issue with towing in OD is low line pressure when the engine starts to drop down in RPM. Pump output can drop, and line pressures go down, torque is going up cause the RPM is dropping and clutches start to slip. BD towloc or something helps with this. Basically anytime your locked up, the TV valve is shoved full on, which brings the line pressures up.

bd presure lock i have one works great on a stock tranny and my bd tranny i would recommend it for anyone give yea same of mind having enough tranny persure

I'm leaving the stock cooler just the way it is. What I was talking about is running a second cooler with an electric fan. I bought a b&m hi tek cooler: http://store.summitracing.com/large...ek+SuperCoolers+with+Fans&img=bmm-70297_w.jpg and haven't installed it yet and wondered if anyone had installed one and what temp difference did they see.

I'm running the B&M super cooler. Still runs hot i think it's the TCI TC.

I made the bracket, got the idea from a guy on Ebay selling the kits for too much money, just copied it.

Thanks, I agree that the price for the one on Ebay is too high. I really don't see how a bracket, some fitting's and hoses can cost $400. I'll be installing mine next week and see how it works.
