trading turbos

I got an offer of a brand new in the box s400 with a stock hx35 NO plumbing just turbos for my single 66. They could not give me that much info on the s400 just it was a 26 Exhousing is what they said so far.

I'm not sure what i wanna do. If at all possible i want to keep away from an hx35 but i DO want to go to a silver 66 or a 64 of some sort if its a reputable turbo. I'm not outing twins, but seems like alot of work for right now. I could trade them for one of the singles i mentioned.

I found out my sig. is wrong. My turbo currently is a 66/74/16 not a 14

26 ex housing is on 3b's not s400's.

isnt your turbo similar to a silver 66 with that 74 wheel?

you can get s400 at a decent price if you look enough.

i would just get a 64 wheel to replace the 66 if that what you wanna do.

Not exactly. I have Two ht3b's sittin in the garage I could use for a bottom with a 64 on top. I wanna keep a single for a while, Twins is WAY out of the budget right now. I just thought the s400 was a good bargaining chip for me to get my hands on.

Tonite I pull my auto and ship it off and welcom the new NV4500 goin in my truck. I did not like having a 66 with an auto. (to much lag). Come to find out like i said, Its not a 14 its a 16 (which explains alot of lag). When riding along the turbo felt stock but being able to control RPM's it will be better now. But if not then go to a 64.

A used HX35 goes for $300. Thats 900 dollars worth of turbos you're trading for $1200 dollars worth of 66mm. Sounds like a bad trade for you and a great trade for the fellow ending up with your old 66!

Is it that Easy to Do? Just slid it on and tighten it back up? I thought there was more to it than that. I'll make a call to the place I got it from, if they cant help...Someone please point me to where I can get the 14 housing.

where you brought your turbo is good place to start, or any other turbo place.
