Trailer/Hanging Weight?

My trailer is 26' and I am always wishing I had went with a 30 footer. My weight box is always atatched to the truck and it can be a pain to load. I have to drive up on the trailer....weight box goes thru the frame of the trailer 12", then the rear ramps have to get lifted up and folded over, then I back the truck back and sit the tires right where the ramps meet the trailer. Sounds confusing but it works for me and doesn't take to much time to load...just a pain.

I have atatched a few pics of my setup.

Scott...I like how you have yours setup! I am thinking of taking the quad along this year and the only place for its going to either be on the actual goose neck or in the box of the truck...if there is a floor in it this comming year!

I figure with my 44 foot trailer we'll put the ATV up on the neck, and 2 trucks on the trailer with the weights on the deck.

what trucks are you putting on the trailer? I figured out last year I would need a trailer 48' long to be able to put my GMC and my brothers reg-cab longbox dodge on the same trailer. Now that is with the weight brackets on both trucks for transport.

Also, for me I would have to jump up to at least an F550 or 650 to beable to haul that kind of weight. The 48' trailer I looked at weighed 8800lbs, and both trucks were 8000 plush gear. Before I knew it my gross was 32K plus!

IC-Smoke, I'd like to see some pics of how you got your stack to clear your toolbox...

I just pushed the tool box back 10" or so, you cant tell in the photo but there is a gap.

I have it half full of lead bars. I picked up some thin walled 2" square tube, capped one end, filled it with lead then capped the other end. Currently I have about 750 lbs of lead in it and it can hold close to 1500. Just to give you an idea on how heavy lead is....one cubic foot weights just over 750lbs!!!

Each of my bars weigh 35lbs and I have 22 of them in there. I made the bars easy to access thru the back of the box where I just unbolt the 1/8" plate and they are right there, I can add or take off how ever much I need. It is also quite solid, makes a perfect seat or a platform to stand on when wrenching or looking under the hood. Because its all steel and the paint is an Agriculture paint its really tough so it doesn't mark up and I put a few super stong rare earth magnets on the box and when I am wrenching I just drop the nuts or bolts or what ever I am taking apart by the magnets and it holds everything there for me...works great for the hood pins too!

I will search for some more pics.

I just want to say thank you for having your truck properly secured down! I see a lot of people running around my parts that just throw a ratchet strap over the trailer hitch and one on the front and that is just plain dangerous. Chains are the only way to secure a large load safely IMO and after being in an accident where a $40k tractor was lost off of a gooseneck because of not being properly secured I sure as hell don't skimp out on that stuff.

2 Ex-Cab Long box Dodge trucks, without the weight brackets on the trucks.

48' deck length is illegal AFAIK, I think the maximum allowable trailer length is 53 foot including the gooseneck.
