Trans Brake?

Hey guys this is kind of a stupid question but i was wondering if anyone out there makes a trans brake for a Diesel transmission and if so, if anyone is using them. my buddy has one on his 72 chevy street truck and loves it but i have never heard of one for diesels, probably because they make to much power.

Rumor has it that holding the reverse and forward clutches will result in catastrophic failure with the torque/weight levels we're at. Some testing was also rumored to be done in the Pac Northwest with poor results. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the 3000lb racers?
