Trans coolers

In this cool air that we have in Texas It might still be to hot for that.

triton, I do have a cooler up front I just worded it wrong :bang.
gotta love using free nitrous to help cool the tranny cooler at the Dr. P Race! LOL

10-4, unless you have the cooler on the front of the truck too. Then you'll go from the trans to the front, back to the remote and then out to the trans

going to try and keep the stock cooler upfront and run like ^^^ so does the fan come on by a thermostat or toggle switch??

It says it has -8an inlet and outlet. What extra fittings would I need to run braided line to it?? Help the slow kid

part # 15830

that is the cooler i use...-8an fittings and lines. let me see if i can find the parts list i used to buy the fittings.

about the fan, you will have to buy a switch if you want to be able to operate it. i ran out of time, and decided not to run a switch for the fan. turns out though that i have never needed it. its cool w/o the fan.

you'll need....

2 - -8an x 1/4" NPT for the ports on the trans.
2 - -8an male x female ( to come off the fittings in the trans )
2 - 4ft -8an lines
1 - 8ft -8an line ( to mount it where I did )

One of the lines off the stock cooler already has a coupling. Take it a part and the cooler side of that line has a male -8an. The other line off the stock cooler needs to be cut on the rubber hose part and have a -8an fitting pressed on to it.

You can buy a thermostat from Derale that goes inline but, I didn't want it cause it comes on at 180F. I rarely get the trans temp that high so I just installed a toggle. I try to keep it at least at 160F

that's what i used as well...

be careful with the -8an compression fittings that connect to the hard line on the derale and stock cooler...it's real easy to ruin the crush washer on the inside which will result in a leak
