Truck stalls and has lopey idle

just a question on the stalling when you put it in gear....What converter are you running?? The problem i had was the converter was to tight. I have an ATS 5 STAR. I even had the pop off pressure turned down on the inj's a couple hundred psi. Still didnt help. Truck ran great just couldnt put it in gear lol. I had .120 hpc's and .093 lines on it and it only made it worse. Ended up the problem being the pump didnt have enough low end fuel at idle to make up for the instant surge of the tranny going in gear. Putting the stock lines back on fix the problem for a while, but after a while it started doing it again. Ended up fixing it with a Monster stage II pump from mike.
I fought this problem for over a year.

I am running one of goerend brothers tripple disk converters with a lower stall. I think like 800rpm lower than stock. you are correct some of my stalling was from the tight converter it use to stall some times with the stock injectors when the trans was brand new but now that the trans has some miles on it the stalling had gone away untill I installed the nozzles but the DDP's took care of the stalling and the rough idle.

I had a ATS triple lock before i got the 5 star, it was ok. It almost seemed to me that with the stock injectors it was give the pump a little back presure ( like a reserve). With the Bigger nozzles its more free flowing and the pump dont have the reserve that it had before, therefore its kinda like pulling the rug out from under it. Keep in mind that the pop off presure stayed the same because you didnt change the bodies, but it is getting rid of it faster with the bigger holes. To me you wouldnt think that would make that big of a difference but in a sence when your counting on almost perfect timing between the pump pushing and the injectors fireing it is possible. As of right now if you know anyone with a pump you could borrow or a set of similar inj's i'd take the time and try before you buy. Thats what friends are for....right?? Keep me posted.

And one more thing, i wouldnt bother trying bigger lines. Thats gonna hurt you, if you think about it in a play-by-play the bigger lines are gonna take longer to fill and in turn it retards the timing between the pump and inj's. Like i said think of it as a play-by-play this all happens in a split second lol.

I've been saying that big lines hurt performace, not help it, yet people still keep wanting to run them.
