Just got this 97' running after being torn apart for several months and im having hell getting the pump tuned. The mods are, 13mm 5k race pump from Northeast Diesel Service, duel feed 5x.018's, 188/220 Hamilton, Hamilton springs, HD rods, P&P head w/ fire rings & studs. S475 w/2.6 cover, built 47re. The problem is low end fueling, if i shift it manually its great i can get on top of the charger but if i let the tranny do the work it shifts hella early and i can never get on top of the charger. TV cable is being replaced tomorrow as it is neede but i don't think its the only cause??? Any help is appreciated.

What happens when your floor it from a dead stop? Shifting wise?

are you easing into it, or just going full throttle when your power braking?

when you get the tv cable, set it up so there is no slop in the cable, but its not actually pulling on the arm of the tranny. thats a good place to start

Just as info, the starwheel is all the way back ( middle if access hole), fuel screw i backed all the way out, turned back in to contact the rod and then went 1 1/2 turns in. AFC housing is all the way back.

Have you put compressed air to the afc to see when it starts moving?

Branting Industries here in Denver.

I don't know anthing about them, but if you want to make sure it's right send it somewhere that's reputable in diesel transmissions. Such as Diesel Performance Converters(Garmon) or Goerend.
