tuning issues.

You could go manual VB. Sounds like your truck is more a of a play truck anyway, so might as well.

Well i replaced the tv cable and made some adjustments with the afc and have gained nothing aside from anguish. 1-2 shifts too soon still to lite the charger and still won't lite power braking. 2-3 shifts slip under heavy throttle too. Pretty sure my Converter builder went the wrong direction with the stall speed, don't know much about tranny's but could it possibly be the gov pressure sensor causing early shifts? And the 2-3 shift slipping band related?

Is the 2-3 shift issue a slip, or more of a flare in rpm?

I think your gonna need to pull the convertor and send it out again. Nothing you do in the tranny is going to raise stall, so you'll never be able to make boost off the line.

Im lost on the tranny issue (other than the TC) because the tranny was fully rebuilt before the 1st of the yr and it was working great other than the tv cable needing replaced according to my former biz partner who is supposedly a mopar tranny guru?? After the rebuild the truck sat until last week becaue i had the motor out of it. The only thing i did to it during that time tranny wise is pull the TC off and "had the stall raised" but its obvious which direction that went.

Band ajustment and tv ajustment is a couple ways to try and get rid of that. Check the front band ajustment and then try it. You can try tightening the tv cable a little as well. If it doesnt go away with the tv cable tighter, then it could be that the clutch pack has too much clearance and is slow to engage 3rd.
Did you just have it built?

Yes the tranny has less than 50 miles on the rebuild then it sat for 3 months because i had the motor out of it. It's a customers truck and i was building the motor for him as well.

still didnt get it running right beva? i told you i'd come help i was just workin on that damn fish tank stand when you called haha. i thought that converter sounded to tight too with what you were describing. as for the trans... we could take it to Frank? :Cheer:

No worries, im gaining on it finally. It's the valve body, putting a new one in it monday. the converter issue was just fuel drowning it out. Slowly gaining on the rpm and spool, going to tighten the AFC up tomorrow and keep on tuning.

Haha didn't he say the vb was his strong point? And nobody in co could do it like him? Good luck man let me know if I can help. Not this weekend tho, tryin to get mine Rollin again haha

Yeah well those weren't my words haha. Im changing the spring in the AFC monday, bottom end fuel is killing me to spool this charger.
I'm using a modified valve spring from a dmax. Doesn't start moving till 15-20 and full fuel is 60 or so.

Picking up a TST kit from ATS monday. This is my 1st p-pump build and im having hell getting the charger lit while power braking. The spring in the AFC is too weak and short if im thinking right. Can't seem to keep the fuel cut back on the bottom end enough to lite the charger and stall the TC.

Yes you need a stiffer spring. That tst prob isn't enough. You need a heavier spring.

I guess i should also let you know in my tuning endeavors i have also been able to go from zero to 5 psi boost and from 1500 to 1900 rpm, egt's 800-1050 and after taking apart the AFC and setting it with shop air 30psi is the max allowable adjustment on this spring. Leaning me towards too short/weak. Correct me if im wrong please.

The 215 is a shorter but heavier than the tst. What turbo or tubos are you running?

I'm running twins with 500cc, 63/71/13 over s475. My spring starts to move at 15-20psi and full fuel is 60-65psi..Perfect for me with sdx dv's.

Maybe I can send you one if needed, you'll have t grind it to what you need though.

Well after effin with this pos Converter for far too long it's going in the garbage. Goerend coming soon.
