turbo silencer ring

Need some help, I am trying to get the silencer ring off the turbo i have all the intake hoses off is the ring right on the inlet of the turbo and how do you get it off. Thanks for the help. This is on a 05 6.0

I believe on your truck it is part of the casting. That being the case you have to machine it off. I think you can remove it much easier on the 03s.

I've read of a few guys using a dremel(sp) tool to remove it? good luck.

does removing the ring just make the turbo louder help any performance or hurt or does nothing?

I've read that it makes the truck louder but I was advised by Marc not to take it out as it has something to do with boost.

Not to mention trash your warranty if you have any left...
