turn signal/brake light issue.

Not yet been swamped at work after the holidays gonna hope for a slow day today and see what i can find. Read on another forum that people have been having an issue with the plugs in the steering column coming undone on half ton's and dakotas in the same year range

Ya I have heard of that or pinched wires in the column. One of the reasons I set my column where I do not have to move it to get in and out.

Yeah mine is set to where i dont have to move it at all. Gonna give those a try tonight and see what i find

checked all the plugs and wires. unhooked the brake controller and stil have nothing. got too dark to work anymore. will try looking some more tomorrow.

well replaced the multifunction switch and still nothing. took a volt meter and checked the voltage at the relay for the turn signal/hazard and had voltage where i should of. double checked the fuses and appearently my vision has went to $hit and both the hazard and the turn signal fuse were blown. replaced them and all was good. had to check them with continuity on the volt meter to figure out they were both blown cause you couldnt tell just by looking at them.

:rockwoot:

Were the fuses the correct size according to the chart? Just curious if somebody replaced them with something smaller or if there's still a problem with the trailer wiring.

they were the correct ones i think there is something messed up with my uncles trailer brakes on his car trailer. gonna give him a call tomorrow and see if he has had the same issue in the past with it or not. kinda made me mad i spent 60 bucks on a multifunction switch and relay and it really was just the fuses. after this find i might need glasses now i could barely see the break in the fuses. the new ones are definately easier to see if they blow this time
