where does the downpipe go? seems like it would be REALLY tight...

The downpipe looks like it would be really hard to route

It was tight but still have a 5 in down pipe with heat exchanger and ac... ill go dig up some pictures

As far as spool up goes, Im sure it would be better if the hot pipe was shorter/less bends, but with the 351/gt55 setup this thing had 20 psi by 1700 rpm and the primary was starting to come up at 1800 (the gt55 turbine is huge 100/111 and is currently in a 1.2 housing). I have since progressed to a 63/68 .70 secondary but I fully believe with a smaller primary this orientation would not hinder spool noticeably. Look at the duramax and ford twin turbo kits and the length of their hot pipes.

I never heard how you liked the change going from the HE351 to the 63/68

Spool up suffered slightly But overall truck runs better. Going to be going to a smaller gt50 turbine and exhaust housing very soon. I also added a 13mm pump shortly after the 63/68. The truck has about 20 psi at 2000 rpm now and there is movement on the primary gauge. Drive pressure is still high but didn't have time to tinker with the gates before. At full tilt now the truck is at 85 psi with 30 ish from the primary. Good enough to keep up with a 500hp gremlin LOL
